Powerdaylight Ø 25 cm Eco pitched roof exterior (roof) components
The Powerdaylight Eco version is a specially insulated daylight tube, making it one of the most energy-efficient daylight tubes in the range. The Eco version improves both the thermal and acoustic properties of the daylight system, making it suitable for passive construction.
The Eco variant allows slightly less daylight to pass through than the standard Powerdaylight due to the additional thermal and sound insulation, which in our opinion means that the standard version offers the best mix of price, insulation and daylight transmission.
Key features compared to 'standard' Powerdaylight:
- Better insulation value: the thermal transfer coefficient (U-value) of the installed system is U = 0.5 W/m²K* (passive house standards), compared to 1.3 W/m²K for the standard model.
- Increased sound insulation: 67 dB compared to 64 dB for the standard model.
Passive building
Passive construction is a building method in which a home or commercial building is designed to be so well-insulated, airtight, and energy-efficient that heating or cooling is barely required. By optimising solar heat, high-quality insulation, and ventilation with heat recovery, the indoor climate remains comfortable with minimal energy consumption. The result is a sustainable and energy-efficient building, often without a traditional heating system.

Brand Powerdaylight Eco
The Powerdaylight Eco was developed in response to market demand for improved thermal and acoustic insulation. By leveraging the knowledge gained during tests with the standard Powerdaylight daylight system, conducted by TNO and Peutz, the product has been further refined. In collaboration with suppliers and the PassiefBouwen Foundation, a partner organisation in the Netherlands focused on passive building solutions, Techcomlight has begun developing a new line of daylight tubes.
At its core, the Powerdaylight Eco is an evolved version of the Powerdaylight daylighting system. Techcomlight integrated the Powerdaylight Eco to meet higher insulation standards. The Powerdaylight Eco is now sold globally under its own brand, emphasising its environmentally friendly and performance-enhancing qualities.
Flashing Options
The Powerdaylight Ø 25 cm is suitable for all types of roofs and facades. The flat roof flashing is suitable for all types of roofing, such as EPDM, PVC, TPO, bitumen, and CPE.
The Powerdaylight Ø 25 cm for pitched roofs is supplied with a Ubiflex cover, making installation very quick and easy. A flashing is also available to install a Powerdaylight Ø 25 cm through the side facade, providing easy installation and a watertight seal.
Finally, there are many other flashing options for corrugated sheet metal, profiled steel, and thatched roofs.
Specific applications
Besides its standard applications, the Powerdaylight Ø 25 cm can also be used for several specific applications. These include illuminating wildlife and bicycle tunnels, connecting through the ground to a basement, or incorporating it into a prefabricated chimney. If your application isn't listed, please feel free to contact us.
