Solatube Ø 53 cm flashing insulator
Solatube Ø 53 cm flashing insulator
A so-called thermal bridge (or heat bridge) is created when the insulation layer of a heated building is interrupted. As some tolerance is required when creating the opening through the roof for a daylight tube, there is the potential for heat to leak through any gaps remaining around the tube once it is installed.
The flashing insulator is designed for use with our flat roof systems and thus forms the thermal separation between the inside and outside, preventing the thermal bridge between the roof construction and the tube.
The flashing insulator has always been used during all tests carried out on our systems. If the insulation mat is not fitted during installation, we cannot guarantee the quality of the test results (e.g. CE marking).
In the absence of the insulation mat, any warranty claims in relation to thermal bridging will also be rejected.
The insulation mat is also available for use with our pitched roof flashings for the same purpose.
