Our casting mould can be regarded as a lost formwork. A lost formwork remains in the concrete after pouring. Other common names for this are contramal or simply mal.

The inner diameter of the mold is specially made to the correct diameter required for our daylight tubes.

The cast-in mould is often used for a new floor in which the factory can only create a square recess, and over which a floor may later be poured.

To install and maintain the pour-in mould at the correct height and position, we recommend mounting a plywood panel flush with the underside of the concrete. Then fix the casting mould on this panel.

The plywood panel can remain in place after pouring (lost formwork) and can possibly be plastered or coated with it. The advantage of this plywood panel is that a round recess can be neatly made in it, so that our tube can be mounted through the casting mould. The ceiling ring of our daylight tube can then be screwed into the plywood with screws, which provides sufficient support.

During pouring, we recommend placing sufficient stamps under the plywood sheet.

The height of the casting mould depends on the thickness of the concrete structure, including any extra layer that is poured. The collapsible muold may protrude slightly at the top and can then be shortened slightly.

Our collapsible mould is made from recycled plastic. Concrete has the property that it adheres excellently to our casting mould during hardening, but also to the plywood (note: not to concrete plywood).

The flanges on our pour-in mould ensure that the pour-in mould does not deform due to the pressure of the concrete. The number of flanges may differ depending on the height of the mould.
