Description / Powerdaylight Ø 25 cm wall mounted exterior components
Although daylight ideally comes from above, often providing the most light through the roof, the side-wall application of our daylight tube offers a particularly smart and flexible solution for situations where a roof penetration is not possible or desirable. The facade's orientation naturally plays a significant role – a south-facing facade provides more light than a north-facing facade – but even then, there are unique advantages. For example, the daylight tube can almost always be incorporated into the facade thanks to the small recess required. Furthermore, this arrangement offers optimal privacy: no external view or internal view, which is a major advantage, especially where property lines or facades face public roads.
An additional advantage is that our dome always emits a small amount of light externally, which some users deliberately use as subtle outdoor lighting. Moreover, the side-wall application is ideal for homes or multi-story buildings, where daylight can be directed inside via a shorter route, without having to pass through all the floors. Even in deep or elongated rooms with a window on only one side, the side-wall daylight tube offers the possibility of providing the entire room with natural light – a clever way to combine comfort and functionality.

Square construction – powerful and functional
With a square ceiling finish, it's essential to create a transition box in the facade. This is because the daylight tube, which is naturally round, needs to be converted into a square finish on the inside. This transition requires additional space.
Note: this requires a square recess in the facade. Therefore, take this into account in your design and construction preparation. Only with this specific structural adjustment can an aesthetically pleasing, square finish be achieved on the inside of the facade without compromising the light output or quality of the system.
If the daylight tube ultimately ends up on the ceiling via the side facade, you must still consider the dimensions of the transition box and any curves.

Square recessed – for a seamless finish
This version is completely concealed in the ceiling and finished with plaster. Only the light diffuser – an opal acrylic panel – remains visible. Perfect for those seeking a sleek, architectural look without compromising light distribution.
Note: With a recessed square ceiling panel mounted in the facade, the translucent panel must be clamped in place. It normally stays in the frame under its own weight, but that's not sufficient in this case. A wedge can be a solution.
Smart expansion for comfort, safety and functionality.
